How to change the bloody boring disaster story you still think you’re in. A live one-person special for the endless end of the world, by Timo Peach. The show with four stars in the title.

Unsee The Future:

"The future's f****d. So what?"

In our era of fearsome unrealities, who put all the ghosts in the machines? And can we wake up now, please?

If you’ve given up daring to think about the future, perhaps it’s time to find different language for it. Because, wouldn’t it be great to start feeling like you had a say in it? Ah, hush such crazy talk.
With tales of ancient, modern and brave new worlds, artist and presenter Mr Peach brings to the stage the central question of his idiosyncratic research cast:

What story do you think you are in – and can you change it?

“Becoming aware of your own narrative, wouldn’t it be great to create another reality? Unless you’d still like to just wait around for the disaster to never end.”

Still fancy just waiting around for the disaster to never end?

Across an energising hour of overly-typographed imagery and only occasionally graphic language, the bloke from Momo:tempo tells three stories of how we arrived at the apparently immoveable picture of the future we all have in our heads. And how an alternative electro-pop music artist found himself writing an amusing extended thesis about the end of the world.
In historic times around us that seem to lower the bar of disaster and horror a bit more shockingly between every performance of the show, the show will leave you feeling differently about history, economics, science fiction and the place of creativity in your life. And maybe even with a few ideas on how to encourage the more hopeful human tomorrow.

For a personal bit of background to his work developing the foundational LP The Shape of Things to Hum and how it led to Unsee The Future and various live experiences, Timo was interviewed by Matt Desmier of Bournemouth University in this short vid:

“A cross between a Netflix special and a Curiosity Stream doc, this is a show to get you thinking differently and feeling a bit better about coping with unreality.”

What are the technical requirements of the show?

The whole show runs off a single laptop. This is delivered best in a venue with a screen and sound system already in place, into which we can simply plug. But for a tiny or pop-up venue, Timo can bring a projector and modest sound system himself and it will be an even more intimate experience. Especially if you’re in the front row when he makes his big entrance from behind a roller banner.
The show runs for 75 minutes including time for an informal chat and questions with the audience, if this suits the venue and those not having to rush home for baby sitters. Because there WILL be questions.
